Julie Johnson:

Hello Everyone! My name is Julie Johnson. I am the co-founder of integrate trauma-informed network, as well as the Director of Community Learning. My background is in curriculum development, instructional design, and I'm a mind body professional. So this course that I'm co facilitating with another one of our trauma informed professionals, Candace Cox, who's a social worker, and founder of chaos mindset skills, who this one she'll be talking about in the first half of this course.

Julie Johnson:

We developed this course for you all. So the solopreneur, the small business owner, the human care provider, can learn the basic skills they need to support anybody, whether they're working with clients, or they're working as a team, these skills, the chaos mindset CBT based skills and the communication skills that I will be teaching you with some, some cartoon characters that we put into some videos.

Julie Johnson:

All of these skills are meant to help you navigate the choppier waters of supporting clients, your employees, and your teammates in this post-COVID world. So one thing as someone who's been working in traumatology for the last eight years, almost nine years, almost a decade. One thing that we've seen shifts in the last four years is that the leaders in our world need trauma-informed skills and so we see the skills humans that are communication skills and communication skills as leadership skills we all need in order to cultivate positive compassionate relationships, wherever we are. So these are just like skills, you need to be certified trauma-informed.

Julie Johnson:

These are actually life skills. We need to have positive relationships to have not even just positive, but just racial relationships that can be sustainable, whether we're forced to be with someone that's difficult, or we're working through some issues with ourselves, all of these skills can help us navigate living in this, like late pandemic world. So without further ado, I hope you can get through this course with ease and curiosity. If you need any support and point time you can always email us at integrate [email protected] And I'd be happy to support you me or another one of our team members.

Julie Johnson:

The first half of this course is the chaos mindset which Candace will be facilitating. The second half of this course is human-centered communication where you will go through a series of scenarios with some animated videos, and then you'll be asked to create some of those and practice some of those communication skills via video or maybe even create your own animated videos. So you will have a choice on that. But yeah, it's applied to what you bring to the table, the world you are working in, wherever you are in the world. We want you to be able to use these skills as you are learning them in real-time. So thank you again for making the choice to upskill your trauma-informed leadership skills, and we'll see you in the next part of the course.
